Wedding Theme

Long before my h2b and me got engaged, I'm pretty sure of my future wedding theme already.  Deeply influenced by Katy Perry MTVs, Oscar Awards radiating stars and pin-up make-ups, I am ready to plunge into the 1940's Hollywood Theme!

I like the idea of strawberry greeting the guests. So vintage. :)

I so <3  their escort cards

I've been trying to influence h2b with the color palette I like..

Main Color: Red
Secondary Color: Black ---> which he totally disagrees
Accentuating Color: White

What a lovely color combination! Talk about glamour and classic.

How To Ask My Entourage List

We intend to give “Would You Be Invitation” to our entourage, and I want to make it as cute as possible.
Thank heavens for the world wide web, I was able to have an idea of how to do it, since we’re planning to DIY the cards to have a personal touch on it.

For my Bridesmaids
Dear “____”
I will always fondly remember the special times we shared.
You’ve laughed with me you’ve cried with me and always shown you care.
So on that joyful day in “March” when I will be a bride,
I would be honored as well as priveleged to have you by my side.

Will you be my bridesmaid?
I promise I won’t make you wear an ugly dress!

For My Maid Of Honor

To ready for a wedding there’s just so much to do,
from choosing bridesmaid’s dresses to finding something blue.
I see so very clearly how this wedding’s only one,
of the many times you’ve helped me when things needed to be done.
Simply to say thank you just doesn’t seem to share,
the feelings here inside me when I see how much you care.
You are so very special and my heart is grateful for
the friendship that we share and will be forevermore.
Thank You For Adding Joy To My Life

For My Flower Girls
When I was just a little girl
About the same age as you
I dreamed one day I’ll fall in love
And then, get married too.
So now that I have all grown up
About to be a bride
I want you to be right by my side
For a wedding is not complete
Without a pretty flower girl
Like you, who’s dear and sweet
Nadine / Jaimie
Will you be my Flower Girl?

 For Our Principal Sponsors
I sit and think about my wedding day
Friends and family join to play.
Hundreds of things to check off my list,
The smallest details won’t be missed.
Memories of the times we’ve shared,
Always remind me of the people who care.
So at this very special time, the day I am a bride,
I’d like the both of you to be our Principal Sponsor
standing by our side.
Soon I will marry the man of my dreams
My face shines bright and happily beams
But in order to make this day complete
We’d love for you to be in our bridal party.

I’ll be following the steps at

By the way, here’s a template of the paper chain dolls if you need one. :)

Hopefully I can kick off after the holidays. :)

SG Pre-wedding Shoot

We have two sets of Singapore pre wedding shoot! One with the bridal shop and another which is a trial shoot planned especially for my ever shy fiance! :)

We took Ricco A Mona for the bridal shop.  They’re the former Golden Horse Awards Tampines which shifted to Tanjong Pagar.  I hope photos would turn out great as they’re not actually our first choice bridal shop..

..was leaning more on My Dream Wedding.  Maybe I can try my luck with baby if we still have budget to go for another bridal shop. Heehee!

And for our trial one which will be held in conjunction with Valentines Day, it will be done by a freelance photographer from the Phils – Ms Vanessa.  We’re currently planning for it and definitely it will be a beach themed photo shoot as all our other photo shoots will be formal already.  We want it to be relaxed, young and sweet. :)

Hmm.. probably at Tanjong Beach Sentosa???

Some photos I grabbed from the net..

Save The Date

I have been an avid fan of media.

And what better way there is to inform your guests of your impending wedding?

Yes, right! ..video.

We paid the downpayment last Saturday! After days of being a nice girl to Bens, days of acting cute in front of him, until days of pleading! Hmmp!

We’ll be getting DLS team for our save the date video, I’ve seen their works and they look very promising.
Excited to do this! :)

Main Photographer

Having spent sneaky days in the office and puffy-eyed nights.. I decided to discuss with Mr Hubby To Be regarding the style of photography he prefers.  And being a man who doesn’t have the slightest inclination to photography, of course he’s the best person to seek for advice (sic).

I narrowed down my search to Paul Vincent and Metrophoto.  But after reading Darlene’s advice (our coordinator), I dropped Metrophoto.  Thank heavens for Darlene cos I was really finding a reason to drop them cos of their sky rocketing price.

It’s now between Paul Vincent and Imagine Nation.  I sneaked a couple of hours in the office to view Imagine Nation’s site.  ..And yeah! They have artistic layouts, good hearted photographers and nice outputs!  I straight away viewed the Master Photographers because I wanna deal with the ”masters”. :)   I particularly liked..uhh.. all of them.. Heehee! In the end, I was mesmerized and convinced with Jason de Guzman.

Hence at that night, we discussed and finalized our photographer.  With a bit of argument because I want him to reason out why he’s choosing Jason.  He also chose Jason. :)   I guess I was just frustrated because I want to hear reasons why we are not choosing Paul Vincent inspite of the blown up canvass, guest books, parents album and other optionals included in his package.

At this moment, while typing this, I’m grateful my H2B chose Imagine Nation.  Because I Mr Jong the founder of Imagine Nation emailed me about the optionals (specifically blown up canvass) I was asking about.  He reasoned out that they don’t include that anymore because the outputs they give in CD can be printed directly and it will be cheaper if we bring them in print shops. There goes a very kind hearted, honest man.

I know, we won’t go wrong with them.

Balai Taal

Choosing the reception venue was the most challenging task for us.  It’s tough not being able to view the place and it’s disheartening to not receive replies from suppliers.
That’s when we decided that we really need a coordinator.  Although, I read comments from forums and ask suggestions from fellow bride to be’s, I don’t wanna risk paying a downpayment which may eventually go down the drain because we are not happy with it.
Darlene suggested Balai Taal not only because it’s breath taking, but it can also serve as an accomodation for our overseas guests hence, zapping our budget for hotel preps and guests lodging.  I trusted her words since I know she’s reliable and she mentioned that she stays there every year for holiday.

Church

As soon as the thought of weddings came into my consciousness, I have always dreamt of getting married in a dreamy church. Long aisle, lush greenery, romantic setting and dramatic doors. Yes, dramatic doors. :)

Hence the choice of Caleruega Church in Tagaytay. We have never been there together nor have I seen the churh myself. But I’m pretty sure this is what I want.

We booked them 2 years before the wedding. I thought it’s still very early but the church staff informed me that there are Dec 2012 bookings already as well. Luckily we were able to have the slot that we really wanted.
